Originating from ancient India, China and the native Americans, hot stones therapy has been used by various cultures for centuries in rituals and as a means of detoxifying, healing, pain relief and promoting harmony and balance.

The treatment combines the use of oil and massage strokes along the body using carefully heated basalt stones enabling you to relax at the deepest level.  Stones are also placed on and around the body so you benefit from the warmth generated by these wonderful stones.

Cold marble stones are sometimes incorporated into the treatment to help tone and strengthen the immune and nervous systems.

It is easy to see why this has become such a popular treatment with both clients and therapists as one stroke of a heated basalt stone is equivalent to five strokes of a therapists hands.

You are required to remove your clothing except for your underwear.  Treatment takes place on a couch and towels and blankets are provided for your comfort and modesty.

The massage oils used are by renowned aromatherapy specialists, Tisserand and you can choose between their 95% organic blends of Muscle Ease, Detox, De-Stress or Energy Revive, or if you prefer a more neutral and fragrance-free oil, I also use their Face & Body base which contains sesame, moringa and jojoba oils.
